Plasters and pouring the model

Dental plaster is still the most important material in the dental laboratory.
Heraeus Kulzer is the leading supplier with a complete range of the most important types according to EN ISO 6873.
Articulation plaster:
  • Articulation plaster, e.g. Moldafix or OCTA-FIX, is used to create impressions of dentulous, edentulous and partially edentulous jaws.
  • Articulation plaster features short setting time and minimal expansion.
Type II:
  • Alabaster plaster is used to prepare study, planning and diagnostic models. Furthermore, it is mixed with Type III plasters for flasking in plastic prostheses.
Type III:
  • Hard plasters, e.g. Moldano and OCTA-DUR
These models feature good physical properties and serve as the basis for producing partial and full prostheses, impression trays and bite wafers, counter bites, etc. In addition, it is mixed with Type II plasters for flasking in plastic prostheses.
Type IV:
Super hard plaster is ideal for master models:
  • Fixed restorations
  • Bridges and crowns Model casting
  • Inlays
  • Combined restorations
  • Implantology
Super hard plasters customised for CAD CAM technology, e.g. OCTA-SCAN and Molda SCAN, are suitable for all scan systems.
